Drake – Fireworks (feat. Alicia Keys)
The whole idea of this song is that Drake is really going off–fireworks. It’s one of those drop-the-one-word-punchline-at-the-end-of-the-line deals, which I’m not a big fan of. I prefer the traditionally structured metaphors, but Lil Wayne pretty much invented this lazier form of writing punchline rap, and of course it blew up. Of course it did; he’s Lil Wayne.
That’s not anything against the song as a whole. The beat’s smooth, perfect for Drake’s calmly but confidently delivered verses.
