The best hip-hop blog on the internet.

About

It all started in January of ’09. Young CK (that is, Clyde Kelly Atkins – the owner and superhero of the [freshly served] Hip-Hop Blog) was a budding hip-hop fan with heavy childhood attachments to the likes of Eminem, 50, Bow Wow, and Nelly. It was the middle of his junior year in Cary, North Carolina at a tiny little high school called Cary Academy. As it happens, Cary Academy provides all of its students with laptops and plenty of time to kill (i.e. classes). Always the hustler, CK devised a plan to share his passion for hip-hop with the masses.

[freshly served] was born. CK kept posting dope tunes throughout high school, and our following started to snowball. Then came college.

At UNC, CK (who then began going by Clyde) found he no longer had time to kill, but rather time to do anything he wanted. The site still had new music, but it wasn’t necessarily served freshly. Enter Jamie.

Jamie, Clyde’s pseudo-roommate and ride-or-die homeboy, helped pick up some of the slack, writing lots of great content and always posting the latest Wiz. His last post was Lil Wayne’s Sorry 4 the Wait Mixtape.

You may be asking yourself: his last post?! What happened to [freshly served]‘s savior Jamie?! In due time.

Fast forward to summer 2011 – Clyde and Jamie both forget about blogging and anything that even slightly resembles work. I mean, it’s summer. The older and wiser Clyde realized there was a need for a more permanent solution, so he set out looking for a student of hip-hop blogging.

He came to find a new partner, Repon, who was [freshly served]‘s primary author and only sidekick. English wasn’t his first language, but it’s all good. He was our new supplier.

Clyde’s college life left him with little to none time to manage the website or even read Repon’s posts. So he began thinking about selling it to someone who does have the time.
That’s where I come in, my name is Brett. I bought the website from Clyde on Tuesday 2/7/2012, the following Saturday the blog was officially in my possession. Ever since then I have posted at least three updates a day.

A little info on me: I’ve been an active Hip Hop fan for years. My favorite artists are Eminem, Jason Derülo, Pitbull, and the Black Eyed Peas. I’ve used Photoshop for over five years and Illustrator for over two. I’m actively learning advanced level Spanish, chemistry, and calculus.

I want to forward the active followers of this website who are fans of the previous owner Young CK
to his facebook. This website is not going anywhere, in fact it will only get better. As the owner, and writer of this website I’m going to continuously keep you guys updated on the latest in the world of hip hop. So go ahead and bookmark freshlyservedhiphop.com and expect something new every day!

The [freshly served] Hip-Hop Blog is all about keeping you current with new hip-hop music: albums, singles, and music videos. Stay on the cutting edge of urban entertainment by checking out what’s popular on the Billboard Rap/R&B Top 10.
